Coconut Oil As A Natural Laxative (For Constipation)

Coconut oil eases constipation woes because it is fibrous and it cleanses the colon very effectively. It also increases your metabolism rate letting your system break down food faster and more effectively which can lead to an increase in the frequency of bowel movements. (Which means smaller, softer poops). Starting from your mouth all the way to your rectum, coconut oil purges, repairs and strengthens your entire digestive system, particularly your colon. It balances your stomach pH and assists to improve the tone of your intestinal muscles. All of these are “anti-constipation” activities.

Step 1

Measure out ½ tsp. of virgin coconut oil and stir it into an 8-oz. glass of juice. Drink the entire contents of the glass. Choose a juice that is 100 percent natural, not one that is full of sugars or from concentrate.

Step 2

Repeat three to four times per day at least 30 minutes before each meal.

Step 3

Increase the dose by ½ tsp. per day until you are consuming 3 to 4 tbsp. every 24 hours. Gradually increasing the quantity will give your body time to adjust.

Step 4

Avoid processed foods, sugar and fatty meats while you are using the coconut oil, as such foods can contribute to constipation. Instead, increase your intake of fruits, vegetables and water which can all help improve digestive health.
